THERE will be plenty of giveaways, including free toys for children, when Toymate opens its doors at the old Toy ‘R’ Us store in Bankstown on Saturday.
Billed as the largest toy store in NSW — it is 1800 sq m in size — the new outlet will have thousands of items including top sellers Lego, Barbie and Pokemon and could fill the void left when the giant US chain Toys ‘R’ Us collapsed earlier this year.
To mark the opening, the company founded in 2005, will give away a $1000 gift, two trampolines, bikes, free gift bags while there will be face-painters, a magician, balloonists and famous characters. The store is in Home Central, Bankstown.
Toy ‘R’ Us members will also be entitled to gold member status with Toymate, giving them 5 per cent discounts.
Founder and director Danny Bloom said they want to provide an entertaining shopping experience for customers.
“Bankstown is one of our most exciting store openings yet, we can’t want to give all of our
customers the best experience they could imagine with the best prices and range,” Mr Bloom
said.
“At Toymate, we’re focused on providing a magical shopping experience that not only
encompasses an exceptional toy offering, but also offers a colourful world for children to lose
themselves in, shop, play and enjoy our in-store activities.
“We are committed to delivering an entertaining shopping experience for customers, on top of providing top quality toys at competitive price points.”
The Australian-owned company has been opening stores across NSW, with another one slated later this month for Castle Hill.
Toy R Us members will be offered Toymate gold member status, with founder and director Idan Levy, saying they “want to attempt to restore customers faith in the toy retail industry”.
“Customers can simply flash their old membership cards at any checkout which gets them 5 per cent discount for life on every purchase and exclusive deals and invites to Toymate events,” Mr Levy.
“We cannot wait to give our customers the best toy retail experience they have ever
imagined.”
