Sydney teen charged over loaded Beretta, nearly $200,000 cash after police raid his home
A teenager has been charged after a police strike force allegedly seized a loaded Beretta pistol and $197,000 worth of jewellery, believed to be stolen, from a home in Sydney’s south west.

A teenager has been arrested and charged after a dedicated police strike force allegedly seized a loaded Beretta pistol and $197,000 worth of jewellery, believed to be stolen, from a home in Sydney’s south west.
The items had been allegedly removed by Strike Force Raptor when they executed a search warrant at a resident at Carnation Ave, Bankstown, on November 8.
“During a search of the home, investigators located a loaded Beretta 9mm pistol, which had been reported lost, a stolen firearm, ammunition, prohibited drugs, and $197,000 worth of jewellery,” police said.
“These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
“Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 19-year-old man outside a house in Bankstown about 4.30pm on Saturday (April 13).”
The teenager was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, two counts of possess unauthorised pistol, two counts of possess unregistered pistol, two counts of not keep firearm safe, possess ammunition and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, where he was granted conditional bail and is due to reappear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday (April 17)
Investigations are continuing.
