Second man charged with hindering investigation of alleged fatal stabbing of James Pakis
A second man has been charged over his alleged role in the fatal stabbing of a southwest Sydney man.

Police have charged a 21-year-old man for his alleged role in the fatal stabbing of southwest Sydney man James Pakis earlier this year.
Mr Pakis, 34, was allegedly murdered at a Lakemba St home at Belmore on March 15.
Police were called to the home following reports of a concern for welfare, where they found Mr Pakis with multiple stab wounds.
An extensive investigation by police took place, and following inquiries they charged Jonathan Isaac Woods, 21, with murder on March 17.
On Wednesday, police charged a 21-year-old man with hindering an investigation into a serious indictable offence committed by another person, and not disclosing the identity of a driver or passenger as required.
Following a public appeal, a black Honda Jazz was recovered on June 24, and was seized for forensic examination.
Just after 8am on Tuesday, detectives searched a home in Brownsville and arrested a 21-year-old man nearby on Prince Edward Dr.
He was charged and then granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on August 12, 2025.
A close friend of Mr Pakis said he was “a big part of the community”.
“Whether you loved him, argued with him, or just sat back and laughed at his antics, you knew he was one of us,” he wrote.
“He was sharp, relentless, and unapologetically himself – but beyond the s--t talk, he was a good soul who cared about the people around him.”
