Police alleged Samman along with three men attacked 19-year-old Ali Mehrez while he was in his parked red Honda Accord before slashing the car’s tyres in Georges Hall along with three men last September.

Police allege the four co-accused were armed with a cigarette lighter in the shape of a pistol, a small bladed knife with a black handle and a cricket bat.

Samman was arrested by police in Berala on February 19 in Berala where he was allegedly found with cannabis, cocaine and $1175 cash.

The 26-year-old appeared via AVL wearing a long green turtleneck for a brief mention on his charges relating to prohibited drug possession and dealing in the proceeds of crime at Burwood Local Court on Thursday.

Samman has pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and pleaded not guilty to the third charge of dealing with the proceeds of crime.

He sat quietly as the magistrate told him she had received an email from his lawyer Mr Abbas who appeared electronically due to the coronavirus restrictions.

Police prosecutor Willetts told the court a partial brief of evidence had been served and requested a four-week adjournment to complete the brief.

Magistrate Susan Horan adjourned the matter to April 30 for an update noting police might need a further two weeks for the brief on his strictly indictable offences.

He remains in custody.
