Driver allegedly pushed Bankstown police officer in the chest when asked to leave his vehicle

A DRIVER allegedly pushed a police officer in the chest when police requested him to leave the vehicle.

POLICE were patrolling Marshall St Bankstown on Saturday, November 3, when they allegedly observed a drug exchange through the driver’s window of a vehicle. Police stopped the vehicle and requested the driver a 24-year-old male from Bankstown to exit the vehicle.

The male became aggressive pushing a constable in the chest and made attempts to run away. He was arrested, searched and the vehicle was searched. A number of resealable bags containing green vegetable matter were located. The male was charged with supply prohibited drug and assault police. The matter is before Bankstown Local Court.

BELMORE: A man suffered stab wounds and the driver facial injuries after an alleged road rage incident in Belmore on Tuesday. Campsie Police said around 6.40pm on Tuesday, a man, was driving west along Canterbury Rd in a grey Jeep Wrangler, with a 25-year-old male passenger. “While stopped at the intersection of Chapel St, two men got out of a white car and approached the Jeep,” police said.

“The passenger was punched through the open window, before he got out and was involved in a scuffle with the two men. The driver got out and intervened before the two men returned to the white car and fled.”

Police said during the alleged incident, the passenger suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to Canterbury Hospital. The passenger was transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a stable condition. Police have been told the alleged road rage occurred following an earlier traffic incident on Canterbury Rd. Police also located a white Toyota Camry in Punchbowl on Wednesday.

BANKSTOWN: Strike Force Raptor allegedly seized two semi-automatic pistols following a search warrant at a home in Bankstown on Thursday, November 8. Around 930am, the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor executed a search warrant at a home on Carnation Ave, Bankstown. Police allegedly found a loaded Beretta 9mm semiautomatic pistol and a Raven Arms .25 automatic pistol, ammunition, cannabis, cocaine, steroids, and other items. Officers spoke with the residents — a 40-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man, and a teenage boy — none of whom have firearms licences. Initial inquiries reveal the Beretta had been reported as lost by the registered owner, and the Raven Arms had been reported stolen by the registered owner.

YAGOONA: On September 4, 2014 a 40-year-old male from Yagoona was served a with a Firearms Prohibition Order. On Tuesday, November 6, police attended the male’s Powell St, Yagoona residential address and conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order search. Police allegedly located a number of replica pistols, a pistol magazine, and various replica firearm accessories. He was charged with 13 firearm-related offences and bail refused. He is next to appear before Bankstown Local Court on January 9.

BANKSTOWN: A man was charged after police allegedly found mail belonging to Bankstown residents on him. Police attended a unit complex in Chapel Rd, Bankstown on Monday, November 5, when they allegedly saw a 34-year-old male from Bankstown riding a stolen motorcycle in the basement. The man attempted to ride away but was stopped.

“During the search police located mail envelopes belonging to Bankstown residents, a drill and numerous sets of keys,” police said. “He was charged with three counts of knowingly possess identity plate not on correct vehicle, two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification, resisting officer in execution of duty and goods in personal custody suspected being stolenand possess identity information to commit.” He was bail refused and due to appear before Bankstown Local Court this week.

BANKSTOWN: On Saturday, November 10, officers from Bankstown PAC were involved in Domestic Violence Compliance Operation. As a result 32 AVO compliances were completed, three persons arrested for breaching their AVOs and one charged for drug possession.
