Padstow: Taiwaaka Noble charged over vicious assault on Padstow Pde

A 24-year-old man has been charged over a brutal assault on another man more than twice his age, which police allege was an attempt to murder him.

A man who allegedly attacked another man more than twice his age and left him with serious injuries will remain behind bars on remand.

Padstow man Taiwaaka Noble, 24, was charged with affray, assault causing actual bodily harm, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and cause grievous bodily harm with intent to murder after he allegedly assaulted 54-year-old John Kitiona on Padstow Pde, Padstow, on Monday July 14.

Police allege Noble punched Mr Kitiona in the head, before he fell to the ground and Noble continued attacking him.

Emergency services were called, and Mr Kitiona was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.

Noble was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged.

Court documents allege the attack occurred between 8.20pm and 8.30pm.

Noble faced Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, but did not apply for bail and will remain behind bars on remand to next face court on Wednesday, September 10.
