Danny Watfa denied bail after guns, drugs allegedly seized in Greenacre police operation

A man arrested in the driveway of a Greenacre home is facing 33 charges after police allegedly seized 27 bags of cocaine and more than $7000 during a search.

Police have busted an alleged drug dealer in the driveway of a home in Sydney’s south west, seizing cocaine, cash and weapons.

Danny Watfa, 25, was arrested by police late Thursday afternoon as he exited the drivers side of a black Toyota Corolla on Abel Street in Greenacre.

Officers from the South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group allegedly uncovered cocaine and cannabis inside the home, along with more than $7000 in cash, 10 extendible batons, and gel blaster firearms during a search.

Later that same evening, a 24-year-old man was stopped by police officers on Avoca Street in Yagoona, with a search of the vehicle by police allegedly uncovering 27 bags of cocaine totalling 18 grams.

Both men were taken to Bankstown Police Station where a total of 33 charges were laid against Watfa including; supply of a prohibited drug (greater than commercial quality), supply of a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime, direct the activities of a criminal group, possess prohibited weapons, and traffic offences.

Watfa faced Bankstown Local Court today, where he chose not to apply for bail.

No plea was entered, with the matter next to appear in the same court December 17.

The younger man was released without charge pending further inquiries.
