Bankstown Bites food festival draws over 10,000 people to check out city’s multicultural flavours

With perfect weather, a crowd of more than 10,000 attended the annual festival in Olympic Parade on Saturday.

SBS Food Safari chef Heather Jeong’s quick spicy kimchi was a crowd favourite as were the cooking demonstrations by My Kitchen Rules guest judge Darren Robertson and MKR semi-finalists David Vu and Betty Banks.

Foodies took part in 20 different food tours and Bankstown local Simon Nguyen won the giant cupcake eating competition.

Canterbury-Bankstown Council administrator Richard Colley said: “I am proud we were able to feature some of our city’s first-class restaurants and show Bites visitors just how incredible the food scene is here in Canterbury-Bankstown.”
