A young father who police allege is a Hells Angels associate was refused bail after police allegedly found two unauthorised and unregistered rifles and vials of steroids at his southern Sydney property on Wednesday.
Wade Blackwell, 30, was charged with possessing unregistered and unauthorised firearms and ammunition after an early morning raid on September 26 at his Lilyvale property allegedly uncovered a .22 calibre rifle and a lever action air rifle as well as ammunition.
He was also charged with prohibited drug possession in relation to five 10ml vials of steroids allegedly found during the raid.
Blackwell, who has a chest tattoo reading We Ride Together Forever, applied for bail the same day as he cares for his five-year-old son, and has a limited criminal history.
His lawyers told the court Blackwell, who works as a tree lopper, had never been in custody before.
However, the magistrate at Sutherland Local Court rejected his application due to the prosecution’s strong case.
Blackwell will appear at Sutherland Local Court via audiovisual link on October 2.
