Wanted man with loaded gun arrested in Bexley North
A WANTED man allegedly had a loaded semiautomatic pistol in his bag when police finally caught up with him in Sydney’s south yesterday.

A WANTED man allegedly had a loaded semiautomatic pistol in his bag when police finally caught up with him in Sydney’s south yesterday.
At 2pm on Monday Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad officers attended a Bexley North unit to conduct a Firearms Prohibition Order search.
Upon arrival a man ran from the property, allegedly dropping a bag containing a loaded semiautomatic 9mm Berretta pistol and ammunition.
Local police, PolAir and the Dog Unit assisted RES officers who located and arrested the 37-year-old man 45 minutes later.
The man was taken to St George police station where checks revealed he was wanted by the Drugs and Firearm Squad in relation to an alleged kidnapping at Glendenning in August 2017.
He will face Sutherland Local Court today charged with three outstanding warrants, six firearms offences, assaulting and intimidating police, being found on drug premises, organising a drug premises and trespassing.
A second man, 30, will face court on September 25 after he was arrested at the same premises and charged with driving disqualified, dangerous driving, being found on drug premises, organising a drug premises and trespassing.
He was granted strict conditional bail.
