A man from Sydney’s south has pleaded guilty to a range of firearms and drugs charges after a raid last month.

Wade Blackwell, 30, has been in custody since Strike Force Raptor raided his Lilyvale property on September 26 and uncovered a .22 calibre rifle, ammunition and five 10ml vials of steroids.

The young father pleaded guilty to one count each of prohibited drug possession, unregistered firearm possession, unauthorised firearm possession, not keeping a firearm safely and unauthorised ammunition possession.

However, Blackwell has pleaded not guilty to additional charges of unregistered and unauthorised firearm possession and not keeping a firearm safely in relation to a lever action air rifle which officers allegedly found at his property during the same raid.

Blackwell will next appear at Wollongong Local Court on November 13 via audiovisual link as his solicitor serves a brief in relation to the charges he intends to fight.

He did not apply for bail at Sutherland Local Court on October 2 and it was formally refused.
