Sydney teens charged with drug dealing
BOYS have been behaving badly in Sydney’s south with at least seven male teens charged with drug dealing in the past year, the latest crime statistics show. One boy was caught out allegedly dealing drugs at his school.

BOYS have been behaving badly in Sydney’s south with at least seven male teens charged with drug dealing in the past year.
The Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research’s latest data reveals seven juvenile males were charged with dealing various drugs in the Sutherland Shire and St George regions between July 2017 and June 2018.
At least one boy was charged with dealing ecstasy as a school in Engadine during that period.
Another was charged with dealing ecstasy at a recreation premises in Hurstville.
Alarmingly, one boy was charged with dealing amphetamines on the street in Caringbah South, while another was charged with dealing cocaine on the street in Cronulla.
Three boys were charged with dealing cannabis, with one charged at a retail premises in Miranda, another at a home in Miranda, and a third on the street in Sylvania Waters.
A NSW Police spokesman said local youth liaison officers school liaison officers and crime prevention officers undertook several initiatives to stop teens getting involved in drug crime.
“(We use) cautions or conferences on a one-to-one basis under the Young Offenders Act,” the spokesman said.
“(We also) link in with youth-specific agencies such as Headspace Oasis Youth Support Network, Project Youth counselling, Reconnect Mental Health, 2connect Youth and Community and Sutherland Cannabis Clinic.”
Police also provide education through community engagement, events and in-school programs on drug prevention and education about prescription and non-prescription drugs.
