Seven southern Sydney restaurants have received thousands of dollars in fines from local councils after failing food inspections ahead of the silly season.
Coffee Drop in Rockdale was fined $1760 by Bayside Council for failing to take measures to eradicate and prevent pests, and failing to maintain warm running water at handwashing stations.
Shine Foods in Wolli Creek and The Breakky Mashup in Rockdale were each fined $880 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness.
Red River House in Riverwood was fined $880 for failing to take measures to process safe and suitable food, while Hot Star in Hurstville was fined $880 for failing to maintain fixtures, fittings and equipment to the required standard.
Redhorn Gourmet Pizza in Rockdale was fined $440 for failing to take measures to eradicate and prevent pests, while Aamaa in Rockdale was fined $440 for failing to maintain handwashing facilities.
They were among dozens of restaurants across Sydney that received fines from council food inspectors in relation to a range of cleanliness and compliance issues.

Taste of India, Gledswood Hills: fined $880 for failing to ensure appropriate design for preparing food and failing to maintain handwashing facilities in July 2018.
CAMPBELLTOWN
Bakers Choice, Macquarie Fields: fined $3300 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness, failing to maintain handwashing facilities and breaching a prohibition order in August 2018.
IGA Rite-Way, Kearns: fined $1100 by the Department of Primary Industries for selling unsuitable food and failing to store potentially hazardous foods under temperature control in February 2018.

Brazilian Fogo Churrasco Grill, Bankstown: fined $880 for failing to maintain a supply of single-use towels at handwashing stations in August 2018.

EzyMart, The Rocks: fined $3520 for selling food that does not comply with food standard codes, selling food that does not comply with food standard codes and failing to provide importers’ details on the premises in September 2018.
Sakura Japanese Kitchen, Sydney: fined $1760 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness in September 2018.

Taste 101, Auburn: fined $5060 for failing to store food to prevent it from contamination, failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness, failing to maintain a supply of soap and single-use towels at handwashing stations, and failing to comply with a prohibition order in September 2018.
