Police have charged a man with assault after he allegedly slapped a teenage boy in a chaotic alleged fracas at a Sydney Maccas.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said two boys aged 12 and 13 were in the carpark at Menai McDonald’s in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire around 5pm on October 10 when the situation allegedly deteriorated.

“There was a verbal altercation with another boy, who was known to them,” the NSW Police spokeswoman said.

“Shortly after, police have been told a 44-year-old man – also known to the youths – allegedly grabbed the 12-year-old boy and yelled at him, before approaching the 13-year-old boy and slapping him on the face.”

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command commenced inquiries and subsequently charged the Menai man with two counts of common assault.

He will face Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
