The driver of the other vehicle involved in the incident was a 21-year-old man.

Police allege the man was driving a stolen LandCruiser at the time of the incident while under the influence of alcohol and without a licence.

It is alleged he fled the scene shortly after crashing the vehicle before being found nearby on Park St and arrested by police at 8.30pm.

Police allege the man had a positive blood alcohol reading of 0.166 when tested at the Kogarah Police Station and has never held a NSW drivers license.

He was taken to St George Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Officers from St George Police Area Command have established a crime scene as Crash Investigation Unit officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
