Nikolin Luka charged over alleged Bexley North, Kirrawee, cash find

A man has been charged after police investigating indoor cannabis cultivation allegedly found more than $250,000 cash, a mobile phone and equipment between two unassuming Sydney homes.

The shock alleged discovery of more than $250,000 cash and equipment consistent with a hydroponic house at two unassuming Sydney homes has resulted in a man’s arrest.

Police say an unassuming old home on Laycock Ave in Bexley North concealed a whopping $209,750 cash, a mobile phone and equipment used for cannabis cultivation when detectives investigating indoor cannabis cultivation descended on August 2.

Officers arrested Nikolin Luka, 40, at the Bexley North home and charged him with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

A subsequent raid at his Kirrawee apartment in Village Pl allegedly uncovered a further $41,640.

Luka appeared briefly at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday, where his solicitor had his bail varied to report just once a week and eliminate a previously imposed curfew.

He will next face Sutherland Local Court on November 17.
