A Sydney woman charged with fleeing from police at 200km/h in a luxury vehicle has branded herself the Mercedes Mum, showing off her designer outfits for court for 63,000 Instagram followers.
Margarita Tomovska, 27, was charged on November 13 after she allegedly fled from Strike Force Raptor officers who tried to pull her over on the Princes Motorway near Helensburgh in Sydney’s south.
Police allege Tomovska reached speeds of more than 200km/h over a 10km pursuit before she was arrested and charged.
However, the Alfords Point mother has abruptly leaned into her sudden notoriety, picking up her media moniker Mercedes Mum, posting selfies and videos of her attending court in expensive designer outfits, sky-high heels and bedazzled sunglasses.
Before her appearance at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday Tomovska posted a photo of herself in a tight-fitting mini dress by French design house Balmain and Christian Louboutin stilettos, inviting the media to “come at me”.
In another Instagram post she shared a text conversation with a friend about her plans for court, saying “my mum just said it, she is like why don’t you get a helicopter”.
The self-described brand ambassador also posed for a cosy photo with a cameraman who was waiting for her outside court.
Tomovska’s Instagram is also studded with images of different luxury vehicles, including one shot with the caption “loves Raptor” and “savage” following her initial arrest.
Tomovska is yet to enter a plea to charges of a police pursuit, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and having an unrestrained child in the back seat.
Her case was adjourned to February 19 after her solicitor requested time to provide supporting material to the prosecution on one of the charges.
In stark contrast to her brash Instagram posts about her court date, Tomovska was uncharacteristically tight-lipped when she left court with her solicitor and did not respond to questions about the November 13 incident.
