A Sydney woman who allegedly had an unrestrained toddler in her car when she fled from police in a luxury car at more than 200km/h has faced court for the first time.
Margarita Tomovska, 27, had a male passenger and a three-year-old girl in the car when Strike Force Raptor officers attempted to pull her over in Helensburgh south of Sydney on November 13.
Police allege Tomovska pulled over on the Princes Motorway at 8.20pm before taking off at speed and sparking a pursuit.
The Mercedes Benz AMG allegedly reached speeds of more than 200km/h in a 110km/h zone for almost 10km before stopping, when officers arrested Tomovska and a male passenger.
Officers then located an unrestrained three-year-old girl in the back seat in a “state of distress” and had to help calm her down.
“Between 8.22pm and 8.24pm Tomovska (allegedly) did drive a vehicle knowing that police officers were in pursuit … and that she was required to stop the vehicle,” the charge sheet read.
“(She allegedly) then drove the said vehicle recklessly and in a speed and manner dangerous to others.”
Tomovska was charged at Wollongong police station with a police pursuit and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
The Alfords Point woman will return to Wollongong Local Court on January 8 after she sought an adjournment for legal advice.
Family and Community Services were notified about the incident and inquiries are continuing.
Strike Force Raptor, which was established in 2009, targets organised crime and bikies across NSW.
