A man has been charged over his alleged role in three shocking public shootings in which one man was shot in both legs, a woman was injured by shattered glass and three men narrowly avoided a hail of bullets.
Detectives arrested Joshua Goddard, 29, at Silverwater Jail this morning and charged him with six firearms offences in connection to the alleged incidents in Lucas Heights, Caringbah and Bexley.
At 4am on March 29 a 30-year-old man was allegedly forced to walk into bushland near Heathcote Rd at Lucas Heights by two men unknown to him before he was shot twice in both legs.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital for additional treatment.
Just after 2am on April 1, a 26-year-old woman suffered minor injuries to her face and hands caused by shattered glass when bullets ripped through her apartment window on Taren Point Rd in Caringbah.
Her 33-year-old partner and their four-year-old daughter were home but escaped any injury.
Only hours after the initial shooting in Lucas Heights, the same silver Toyota Camry sedan allegedly used in that incident pulled up alongside three men on Donnan St in Bexley as the driver fired several shots.
None of the three men were injured.
Goddard was arrested at the Silverwater correctional facility on Thursday morning after extensive inquiries by Strike Force Kiewarra investigators.
He was charged with discharging a firearm to cause grievous bodily harm, firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure people or property, firing a firearm at a home with a disregard for safety, possessing a loaded firearm in a public place and possessing an unauthorised pistol and ammunition.
The Belmore man did not apply for bail at Central Local Court and it was formally refused by Magistrate Margaret Quinn.
He will next appear at Sutherland Local Court via audiovisual link on June 25.
Investigations under Strike Force Kiewarra continue.
