Joshua Goddard, 29, has been charged by Strike Force Kiewarra detectives in relation to three alleged public shootings in Lucas Heights, Caringbah and Bexley.

Two brothers and an ex-girlfriend have denied any involvement in a spate of bloody Sydney shootings where a man was shot in the knees and a woman was cut by shattered glass as a bullet smashed through her kitchen window.

Police allege Joshua Goddard, 30, shot his brother Benjamin’s roommate with a .45 calibre pistol in both knees in bushland near Lucas Heights in Sydney’s south on April 29 last year.

The man was allegedly forced to walk into the remote area after being picked up from his Revesby home by two men unknown to him before he was shot.

He required treatment at Liverpool Hospital for bullet wounds to his legs.

Joshua Goddard then allegedly shot at a group of three men as they stood in Donnan St in Bexley hours later.

Police further allege he then fired shots through a young mother’s kitchen window at her Caringbah unit, leaving her bloodied from the shattered glass as her young child slept nearby.

Benjamin Goddard, 31, and his then-girlfriend Darcy Rotherick, 22, are jointly charged with concealing the crimes Goddard is alleged to have committed.

All three are currently in custody on remand awaiting trial, with Joshua appearing at Sydney District Court from the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre in Silverwater, Benjamin from Goulburn Jail and Rotherick from Dilwynnia in Sydney’s west.

At his arraignment before Judge Dina Yehia Joshua Goddard pleaded not guilty to discharging a firearm to cause grievous bodily harm and a back-up charge of recklessly firing a firearm.

He also pleaded not guilty to possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, possessing a pistol while unauthorised and recklessly firing at a home without regard for a person’s safety.

He will face a two-week trial on August 23 at Sydney District Court.

On a joint indictment Benjamin Goddard and Rotherick both pleaded not guilty to withholding information about Joshua Goddard’s alleged offences and his whereabouts while knowing that information could result in his arrest and prosecution.

They will face a joint one-week trial at Sydney District Court on September 20.
