A man accused of an alleged stabbing attack which almost killed a 24-year-old has denied he intended to cause grievous bodily harm to the victim.
Police allege Rabie Daher, 38, stabbed a man in a Brighton Le Sands unit block at about 4am on January 11 last year.
Bloody fingerprints were allegedly found on the walls of the unit complex and the victim suffered critical injuries.
Last week, Daher pleaded not guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent at Central Local Court.
He appeared via video link from custody.
A charge of wound with intent to murder was also withdrawn by the prosecution.
He is now set to stand trial in the District Court.
Daher will be committed to the District Court later this month.
