Redfern Regional Enforcement Squad began investigating the cultivation and supply of cannabis in the Sutherland Shire last month ahead of an evening raid at a home on Kingswood Rd in Engadine yesterday.

Police allegedly discovered a large-scale hydroponic set-up with 303 cannabis plants worth $897,000 and 500g of cannabis head.
A 57-year-old man will face Sutherland Local Court today after he was arrested at the home and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant, using or wasting electricity without authority, and illegal drug supply.
Investigations are continuing.
