A community surfing group is devastated after their valuable trailer full of gear was stolen from a church car park in Sydney’s south.

Kingsway Church pastor Dave Standen said the trailer was used to store everything the group needs to run monthly surf contests, including a P.A. system, generator and marquees.

“More than that, it is literally a vehicle that helps us connect with families and young people among the surfing community,” Mr Standen said.

“Without this trailer we cannot run our contests.”

Everything inside the trailer had been donated by businesses and individuals in the local and surfing community.

“Other boardriders’ clubs and Surfing NSW also used the P.A. system, generator and other equipment to help run their contests, such as Cronulla’s King of the Beach,” Mr Standen said.

“The incident was briefly caught on CCTV footage (as the car) left the Kingsway Church car park, then headed north up Resolution Dr.”

The stolen trailer is a blue enclosed box trailer with side and rear doors and signage for Christian Surfers, Knockout Pest Control and Simpson Partner Lawyers with registration TB27YF.

The trailer contains a new P.A. system, Honda generator, marquee tents, a surf timer and hooter, coloured competition rash shirts, heat draw banner, sponsor banners and flags, Christian Surfers’ merchandise, eskies, tables, chairs and electrical equipment.
