A woman charged with the alleged murder of a man in a granny flat fire in Sydney’s south has died only weeks before she was due to face trial.
Amanda Zukowski, 49, was charged in June 2018 with the death of her former partner Jeffrey Lindsell, 39, in a fire at his granny flat behind his parents’ Gymea home in October 2017.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed Zukowski had died early on January 12 and there were no suspicious circumstances.
Zukowski was due to face trial for murder on February 3 after police alleged she deliberately set fire to Mr Lindsell’s granny flat and tampered with the water supply, rendering the garden hose useless when his parents attempted to come to his aid.
He died of his injuries in hospital two days later.
