A loved-up young couple has abruptly found themselves in court after police allege they were dealing cocaine in a park near a popular local pub just weeks after pandemic restrictions lifted.
Alana Dunn, 25, and Josh Anderson, 22, were both charged with prohibited drug supply and prohibited drug possession after police allegedly discovered them with cocaine in Dunningham Park in Cronulla on June 27.
Police allege Dunn had 2.41g of cocaine in her possession and had supplied 1.58g between 11.40pm and 11.55pm outside Northies.
Anderson was additionally charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime after police allege he had $500 in cash as well as 2.41g of cocaine.
The pair was arrested and taken to Sutherland police station, where they were charged at 5am the following day.
The pair were not required to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday, where Anderson’ solicitor Wayne Pasterfield sought a brief adjournment.
Dunn pleaded not guilty through Mr Pasterfield, who appeared as an agent for her solicitor Sam Macedone.
Dunn is required to report to Sutherland police every Wednesday between 8am and 8pm, while Anderson must report to Sutherland police every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Anderson is also subject to a curfew between 11pm and 5am and may not leave his Engadine home between those times unless his mother accompanies him.
Court documents reveal neither Dunn nor Anderson have any criminal convictions.
Dunn, who lives in Gymea Bay, works full-time in childcare while Anderson is employed as a carpenter in the greater Sydney area.
