Villawood man charged over alleged online grooming of teenage boy

A man has been charged over the alleged online grooming of a teenage boy for the purpose of sexual activity in Sydney’s south.

A man has been charged over the alleged online grooming of a teenage boy aged 15 in Sydney’s south.

On Friday, officers from St George Police Area Command started an investigation after reports an anonymous person allegedly groomed a 15-year-old boy online for the purpose of sexual activity.

Detectives arrested a 34-year-old Ahmad El-Wazze at an address in Villawood, about 3.35pm on Saturday.

Police also seized a number of electronic devices and clothing at the premises.

The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with groom child for unlawful sexual activity.

El-Wazze was appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Sunday before he appeared in Sutherland Local Court on Monday where he was refused bail.

The case was adjourned to March 19.
