With a COVID-19 outbreak rattling Sydney’s suburbs again, local dining venues need your support now more than ever. These are the top five new dining destinations across Sydney’s south.

Sydney’s foodie scene is hanging on as the NSW Government coordinates the fight back against the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Despite the Delta variant cluster which began in Bondi Junction and some increased restrictions, dining out is still on the table within safe boundaries.

Local venues need support now more than ever – here are the top five new venues in Sydney’s south for a night out on the town (safely).

Ever wanted to eat a bag full of spicy, saucy seafood with your hands directly off a table? Well, that’s what happens at Kickin’ Inn. The Cajun-style shellfish boil restaurant literally serves bags of shellfish they tip out right in front of you on the paper tablecloth, soaked in one of their five signature sauces – you get to choose the level of heat. Bibs and gloves are provided to keep you safe and sanitary.

The minds behind Summersalt at Wanda Beach and Jensen’s at Kirrawee have opened a sophisticated 1950s-style lounge bar with a modern twist, featuring “killer cocktails and kick-ass food”. The cocktails are still flowing with the modified restrictions and a capacity of 32 customers. Happy hour is at 6pm. What are you waiting for?

We’re all feeling a bit deflated about the COVID-19 outbreak but the good news is that we will always have dessert. Cronulla’s newest dessert cafe and bar Marvel’icious is open from breakfast through til dessert with decadent dessert stacks, outrageous milkshakes, savoury favourites and sweet cocktails on offer. Want a burger? They got it. Waffle stack? They have that too. Something covered in chocolate? Duh. Pass us a spoon.
