An award-winning bodybuilder and competition coach has been charged with sexual assault after police allege he raped a woman at a suburban Sydney hotel.
Detectives from St George Police Area Command charged Hassan Osseili, 34, with sexual intercourse without consent in March 2021.
Documents tendered to Sutherland Local Court indicate police will allege Osseili had sex with a woman without her consent, and knew she was not giving consent when it allegedly occurred.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at the Airport Hotel in Arncliffe on March 20.
“By virtue of the nature and seriousness of the offence, there is a likelihood of a full time custodial sentence (if convicted),” a police bail document states.
Osseili appeared most recently in Sutherland Local Court on September 14, where he was further charged with breaching bail over an alleged failure to report to police as required.
A detention application was made but Osseili was instead permitted to continue with his original bail requirements to report to police every Monday and not contact the complainant in the matter.
Osseili is yet to enter a plea to either the sexual assault charge or bail breach charge and his matter will return to Sutherland Local Court for a committal mention on November 9.
The larger-than-life bodybuilder won Mr Australia and NSW at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness competition in 2016.
On Instagram Osseili also says he has degrees in dietetics and biochemistry, and is an elite trainer, bodybuilding competition coach and sport nutritionist.
He posts frequent shirtless selfies to more than 91,000 followers, including one of him in front of a police car stating “had to take a photo with my friends”.
