Police will allege a cleanskin media and communications graduate was a dial-a-dealer who allegedly supplied cocaine for a criminal syndicate throughout Sydney’s strict Covid lockdown.

Mackenzie McNally, 22, was charged with supplying cocaine and participating in a criminal group after officers attached to Redfern Region Enforcement Squad’s Strike Force Northrop swooped on her in Caringbah on August 12.

Court documents indicate police will allege McNally supplied cocaine between June 1 and July 31 in Caringbah.

Police will further allege McNally participated in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity – namely, prohibited cocaine supply – between May 21 and July 16.

A police bail document tendered to Sutherland Local Court said McNally was unemployed at the time of her arrest and resided with her parents in Bonnet Bay.

“This is a serious drug supply matter,” the bail document states.

“It appears the accused was employed by a criminal syndicate (and) the prosecution case is strong.”

The bail document states McNally was previously unknown to police and has no criminal history.

“The accused is an associate of several criminals,” the bail document states.

McNally was granted bail at Sutherland police station on August 12 and is required to report to police three times a week and abide by a curfew between 9pm and 6am.

Her matter was first mentioned in the registrar’s call-over at Sutherland Local Court on September 9, where it was adjourned for brief orders to October 28.

Strike Force Northrop is an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal syndicates co-ordinating “dial-a-dealer” drug supply networks.

Since its inception in 2017, investigators have seized more than 4.1kg of cocaine, 490g of MDMA, 1.1kg of cannabis and more than $1.12 million cash.

McNally previously studied communications and media at the University of Wollongong and worked in retail.

She was part of a group that recently helped raise more than $73,000 to support a friend undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
