A former bus driver has admitted to soliciting child abuse material.

Adam Stevens, 27, appeared in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday where he formally entered pleas.

The Menai man has pleaded not guilty to two counts of use carriage service to groom under 16 years old for sex which allegedly occurred between 2016 and 2021.

He pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material, with court documents revealing he solicited and caused the material to be transmitted to himself in 2021.

A count of using a carriage service to possess or control child abuse material related to data held on a computer in 2021; and using a carriage service to send indecent material to person aged under 16 in 2021; will both be taken into account upon conviction.

Stevens will be committed for trial in Downing Centre District Court on September 22.
