A voyeuristic pervert recorded five female tenants while they were naked, getting dressed and sleeping with covert cameras hidden inside alarm clocks and smoke detectors, a court has heard.

Bradley Crealy, 51, knew filming the woman was illegal, but he would regularly enter the home pretending to do housework so he could change out the SD cards and reposition the cameras – all for his own depraved sexual gratification.

Crealy pleaded guilty to seven counts of intentionally recording intimate images without consent and seven counts of stalking before he was sentenced in Sutherland Local Court in August to three years in jail with a two-year non-parole period.

Documents tendered in court state Crealy sublet a two-storey Allawah house with six bedrooms and three bathrooms to seven women aged between 22 and 37 in November, last year.

The rental property was privately advertised on Facebook and there were no written contacts with the women, instead contacting Crealy via WhatsApp.

On April 21, one woman noticed a light coming from the alarm clock so she disconnected it from the power supply.

Documents state two hours later Crealy sent the women a message informing them he wanted to return to live at the house and they had to leave.

Later that day, a second tenant shined a torch at her clock and noticed a camera before alerting the other women.

The woman tracked down other cameras throughout the house and found several files stored on SD cards in their rooms.

Crealy was arrested on April 23 and his premises in Roseville was searched with police locating more SD cards.

In total, 229 videos and 38 hours of vision was recorded with screenshots of some of the invasions of privacy screenshot on Crealy’s phone.

The court heard Crealy installed the cameras for sexual gratification, with police adding they found a large amount of pornography and photos of unaware women at the beach, in fitness clothes and other locations on his phone.

The court heard the victims had sought counselling after having suffered depression, paranoia and hypervigilance; feeling they could not relax in their own space because they feared being recorded.

Magistrate Philip Stewart said Crealy’s conduct was “repetitive and ongoing” and “carefully planned his repulsive conduct”.

“It represents a gross invasion of the victims’ privacy,” he said.

“There is a significant degree of planning, execution and maintenance of the system put in place by the offender specifically for the purpose of sexual gratification.”

Crealy, who is married and has a son, has a limited criminal record and worked as cleaning supervisor and owned and operated an amusement machine leasing business since 2017.

Crealy acknowledged in a report that he knew installing the cameras was illegal but was confident he would not be caught because they were marketed as “undetectable”.

He said he “regretted” his actions, but appeared more concerned about going to prison and how that would impact his business and when prompted acknowledged the victims were violated.

The report indicated Crealy sought out pornography that was voyeuristic, suggesting a deviant sexual interest; and acknowledged having a sexual addiction.

Mr Stewart was not satisfied Crealy expressed remorse, adding only a full-time sentence of imprisonment was appropriate.

Crealy will be eligible for parole on August 24, 2025.
