HAROLD MATTHEWS

JASIAS AH KEE

Returns for his second stint of Harold Matthews and will be one of the keys for the Dragons after the five-eighth was named the club’s Player of the Year in 2024.

Part of the all-conquering Patrician Brothers Blacktown set-up and he’ll be certain to take on a leadership role this time around.

SOLOMON LITARA

A handy pick-up for the Dragons with Litara plying his trade with Minchinbury in the Penrith Juniors.

He’s a second rower who can find the line and he’s an up and coming edge talent who deserves a shot at this level.

JAYDEN RAWSON

Another returning face from last year and the outside back will take plenty of benefit from that experience.

The Brighton Seagulls junior has also palyed at fullback and he showed enough this season to suggest he’ll have a big impact.

PHOENIX JOHNS

The Kiama product is a very exciting addition to the Dragons squad by the way of Illawarra South Coast.

His form in the Johns Cup saw him spend time with the Steelers and the big centre looks ready to continue his upwards trajectory.

LUKA HALANGAHU

Has showcased his leadership skills with Brothers Penrith and despite coming into Harold Matthews a year young, he’ll be right up to this level.

A NSWCCC representative earlier this year, Halangahu captained his club side and he’s a lock with a very bright future.

LISA FIAOLA

MIA EDWARDS-FOLLINGTON

Played the club season with the Penshurst Kookaburras where she featured at both dummy half and in the centres.

Has been floating around the rugby sevens scene with Oatley as well and we know how those skills can transfer over to league.

TAYLAH EL-TERS

One of a handful of players returning for a second crack at Lisa Fiaola Cup and it’s easy to see why the Dragons held onto her.

An outside back by way of the Arncliffe Scots and Penshurst, El-Ters showed promise and was one of the bight sparks in a challenging season.

CHANTEL WILSON

One of St George’s new recruits from the north Queensland region and she is shaping up as a fantastic pick-up.

She was the captain and lock for Brothers Townsville this season, where she finished fourth on the top tryscorers list with 14 for the year.

TENAPAU NAAWI

The Ipswich talent is part of a strong recruitment drive from the female pathways teams that is certain to pay dividends.

We saw her on the wing in Queensland’s equivalent of the Fiaola Cup last year and she’ll be a leading contender for top tryscorer.

SAINARA FAAVESI

Similar to El-Ters, Faavesi has come through the ranks with Arncliffe and Penshurst as a damaging back-rower.

Has been playing up in age at club level so don’t expect the fact that she is a year young will have any negative impacts.

SG BALL

ZAC NACHAR

Nachar is one of the few returning players from last year’s premiership side, with the winger scoring a double in the grand final success over Canterbury.

In a powerful attacking unit he proved himself to be a great finisher and he’ll be hoping to play his role in back-to-back successes.

ALEX FUTIALO

Was crowned as St George’s Players’ Player for the 2024 Harold Matts season and there’s no doubts he can handle the step up to U19s.

He’s a front rower with plenty of size and most importantly an engine in the middle. Captained the U17s last year and will be among the leadership group again.

RISIATE SMYTHE

Like Nachar he was part of the 2024 drought-breaking win, playing his role as an impact forward.

The Kingsgrove junior is versatile enough to play in the middle or on an edge, making him a valuable piece of St George’s title defence.

TYE BURSILL

Named in the Western Suburbs squad also, but is one from the Dragons/Steelers catchment they’ll be desperate to hang onto.

The Endeavour Sports High student and Thirroul junior has played with the Sharks in Harold Matts previously and is a highly promising hooker.

SAMUEL MARDINI

Was a standout for Holy Cross Ryde in the Schoolboys Cup season and backed that form up with Guidlford in the strong U17s Central West comp.

Is one the Dragons were able to secure from Parramatta after he lined up for the Eels in this year’s Harold Matts.

TARSHA GALE

TAHLI STRUTHERS

The Engadine Dragons junior is backing up for her second season of Tarsha Gale Cup with St George.

She was one of their most consistent in the halves and will form a strong partnership with the following player.

LATISHA KAITAP

Came down from north Queensland to join North Sydney this year and such was her form that she earned a call-up to Central Coast in the HNWP.

That shows you just how promising the young halfback is and she’ll give the Dragons plenty of direction that they desperately need.

KEILANI MANU

Also named in the Rabbitohs’ Tarsha Gale squad so there will be a fight for her signature.

She played this season with South Sydney in the Fiaola Cup before a campaign at U18s level with Marrickville.

Has shown promise in the halves and will be a valuable asset wherever she decides to play.

LAYLA GECK

One of the most promising new additions to the Tarsha Gale Cup so far is north Queensland talent Layla Geck.

She’s been playing open-age footy for a few years now with Ivanhoe and she has experience at the U19s rep level in Queensland as a dummy half with the Northern Pride.

BRONTE MORRISON

Featured in the centres for North Sydney throughout this year’s Tarsha Gale Cup and provides a genuine edge threat for St George.

This is her third season of U19s after coming down from a stint with the Townsville Blackhawks and she shapes as a very progressive type.
