A five-time Lotto winner has said he wants to start a family with his girlfriend after a long list of domestic violence charges against him were dropped in court.

Despite being the alleged victim of the charges, Danielle Prebble did not engage with police and failed to appear as a witness.

However, she waited outside court for multi-millionaire boyfriend Carlo Paul Massetti, 45, and embraced him following the news the case had been thrown out.

“The charges against him were pretty harsh and I don’t agree that they should have been what they were,” she said outside the court.

“There is a lot of love there from me for him and I know there is a lot of love from him for me too.

“I think I am safe with him. I’m a mother so I would not put myself in a situation where I felt like I was fearful.”

After embracing, Mr Massetti said: “We are going to try and start a family.

“There was never any violence it was all alleged.

“I think we are going to get on with our lives the best we can and put all this behind us.”

Mr Massetti was facing charges of assaulting Ms Prebble on three separate occasions in June, July and November of last year.

Police charged him with a long list of offences over the alleged incidents including assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence).

However, his girlfriend failed to turn up as the key witness at his hearing in Waverley Local Court on Thursday, after he previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

As a result, the police prosecutor withdrew all seven charges against Mr Massetti when Magistrate Michael Crompton declined to adjourn the hearing for a fourth time.

Mr Massetti has spent the past three months in custody after breaching a court order in August.

Since 2012, the philanthropist has won five big Lotto prizes including two first division prizes within a week in May last year, which saw him rake in $2.5 million.

He has reportedly not worked since his first big win.

Mr Massetti however was sentenced in court on Thursday for one offence of contravene prohibition or restriction in an AVO.

He was convicted and sentenced to a community correction order for a period of 18 months for the offence, which related to him taking Ms Prebble’s phone off her and throwing it into a toilet during a night out drinking together on June 26, 2018.
