How turning pink helped Rouse Hill Rhinos raise more than $18,000 for cancer causes in a single day

ROUSE Hill Rhinos enjoyed a remarkable fundraiser for their annual Pink Day, raising more than $18,000 from last Saturday’s event at Wrights Road Reserve, Rouse Hill.

ROUSE Hill Rhinos enjoyed a remarkable fundraiser for their annual Pink Day, raising more than $18,000 from last Saturday’s event at Wrights Road Reserve, Rouse Hill.

The Rouse Hill Rhinos have a rich history in the community and also boast of several former NRL stars in their ranks, including Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur, Nathan Hindmarsh, Nathan Cayless, Luke Burt and Michael Vella.

Club spokeswoman Milly Coinakis said more than 1500 people attended the rugby league event which also featured 44 teams playing in different age groups.

“It was a wild windy day but that didn’t stop the Rhinos enjoying their fifth Pink Day and raising funds for Breast Cancer Foundation, Kids with Cancer Foundation and Colour 4 Chloe,” Mrs Coinakis said.

“We had 510 Rhinos playing in their personalised pink jerseys and over 100 supporters in pink jerseys.

“It was a wonderful community feeling around Rhino park as everyone works towards raising funds for the chosen charities.

Trent Meredith, owner of from Little Kickers, collected more than $1,600 from his classes during the week.

The Rhinos have now raised nearly $50,000 from their Pink Day events over five years.
