Rouse Hill Rhinos turn pink

ROUSE  Hill Rhinos JRL Club painted their Wrights Rd Reserve pink on Saturday, raising more than $12,000 for The Breast Cancer Foundation and Beyond Blue organisation.

ROUSE  Hill Rhinos JRL Club painted their Wrights Rd Reserve pink on Saturday, raising more than $12,000 for The Breast Cancer Foundation and Beyond Blue organisation.

The rugby league club’s many junior teams got into the action from early morning while off field there was plenty of entertainment including a giant slide, tea cup ride, giant blow up obstacle course, footy passing competition and face painting by Nat’s Fancy Faces.

Food stalls also sprang up around the Wrights Rd field.

The club said Trent Meredith, who runs Little Kickers programs for footy and soccer, raised the most, with support from the under-11/2s.

They collected $1,289 over a few weeks.

Club president Keenan Di Francesco said this was the best Rhinos charity fundraiser.

“Thanks to all the generous local businesses, Rhino family members and the local community we were able to raise over $12,000 to share between our two chosen charities,” Mr Di Francesco said.

“The day went without a hitch thanks to the dedication of Kassandra Stewart and Milly Coinakis who organised every part of the day and a big thank you to Nicole Mackay and all the canteen helpers.

“A special mention to the under-16’s team and their parents who were a massive help on the day by running around the meat trays and manning the jumping castle at times.

JUNIOR RHINOS SET THE BAR

“Your participation in the day was much appreciated.”

The silent auction offered a framed 2015 Parramatta Eels jersey, a framed bat of Michael Clarke, a photography portrait session valued at $1500 from Tiger Lily Photography and tickets to The Voice and Footy Show.
