Renting dad plans to buy first home after winning lotto’s top prize

A STANHOPE GARDENS man will be busy looking at homes for sale in the coming weeks after winning a first division prize of $1 million in last Wednesday nighht’s lotto draw.
The father of two, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he’ll now be able to stop renting and buy his first family home after becoming a millionaire overnight.
“Today is a very good day,” he said.
“I discovered I’d won last night after the draw.
“I jumped on the Lotto App to see the Wednesday lotto results and I thought I’d come close to winning because I recognised some of the numbers straight away.
“I then grabbed my ticket and started checking it and thought to myself, ‘Hang on, my eyes must be playing tricks on me because I have all six winning numbers.’
“I didn’t sleep much at all after that — I think I got about two hours sleep. I’m still in shock.
“I’m renting so I’ll be buying my first home with my prize money. After that I’d like to take my family on a holiday.”
The division one System 9 winning ticket was purchased at Stanhope Newsagency, in Stanhope Village shopping centre.
