FORMER Australian speed demon Mitchell Johnson, who has provided cricket fans with plenty of excitement and entertainment during his cricket career, gained more fans when he signed copies of his new book at Dymocks Rouse Hill.
Johnson, whose bowling terrorised batsmen, showed his gentler side off the field as he autographed copies of his just released book, Resilient, for many admirers at Rouse Hill Town Centre on Saturday and even indulged a young fan by signing his bat.
Johnson is the second celebrity in recent months to launch a book at the popular book store with rock icon Jimmy Barnes wowing the fans in September.
The 35-year-old Townsville-born cricketer has been one of the stars of the Australian cricket team, winning the ICC Cricketer of the Year twice (2009, 2014) while helping Australia regain the Ashes and winning the 2015 World Cup.
Johnson retired from international cricket in November 2015, with 256 caps and 313 Test wickets. He was also a more than capable batsman scoring a Test century.
