CHRISTOPHER Allen used an unique way to attract job offers, advertising his skills on “job corner” on the side of a busy road in Kellyville.
It won the Hills local hundreds of friendly waves and honking and, more importantly, more than 25 job offers.
Last Friday the enterprising 18-year-old went back to the same spot to thank all the motorists and well wishers – including the Rouse Hill Times – for their support, announcing on his whiteboard that he has got a job.
“I wanted to thank everyone for the amazing support because I have got a job in IT which is what I wanted,’ Mr Allen said.
“I will start work in the city in two weeks time and I am very excited about it as I have wanting this type of job for a long time. People have been fantastic and I wanted to to say thank you.”
The new job will obviously provide more satisfaction that his present one of shovelling horse manure at a local farm.
The Maraylya resident made his advertising pitch on the side of Old Windsor Rd for four days last month.
“Normal does not work in this day and age and I think you have to stand out to be noticed in Australia,” said Mr Allen.
