THE talented mother and daughter combination of Terina and Talisha Jones have struck again, winning a swag of prizes at the 2016 Organge Blossom Festival art show.

This is the second-year-in-a-row that the newly-minted artists from Beaumont Hills have stolen the show — they won nine awards this time including Best in Show — at the popular festival hosted by The Hills Shire Council.

It’s a dream come true for Terina who is a late bloomer in the artistic stakes and her success is nothing less than remarkable.

Terina and her 19-year-old daughter Talisha have together won more than 20 awards and now have a growing following who purchase their works of art.

”It was very special to hear the announcement and share it together just made it more special,” the modest Terina said.

“This competition is the one that started our art journey and to win in two consecutive competitions gives us the encouragement to keep following our dreams.

“Many highs have rewarded the hard work that goes into producing our artworks and it has been exciting seeing our skills grow as we try new techniques.

“It is so special creating commission works and seeing people’s delight when we deliver the finished product.

“We tend to specialise in large scale abstract pieces that express emotion and energy inspired by nature and our life experiences.”

Terina’s sister Jennifer Whiteley is also part of the Dynamic Art group, which held a successful exhibition at Hornsby Library, after they won first prizes at the St Ives Show.

The Jones’ art works can be seen on Royal Art Society website and Facebook page under Dynamic Art while their works will also be on display at the Rivergum Community Markets in Kellyville on Saturday, October 29.
