THE membership-only discount giant Costco will open its long-awaited store in Marsden Park in August, providing a massive range of goods for customers in one of the fastest growing areas in Sydney.
The American-owned chain stocks a range of items from fresh food to jewellery to tyres and coffins, all of which will be available at its third NSW store at the Sydney Business Park from August 30.
The Costco fuel station will be open from Monday, July 17.
Costco, which has warehouses in Lidcombe and Casula, will now have nine in Australia, with mega stores also in Victoria, Canberra, South Australia and Queensland.
Costco’s country manager Patrick Noonan told the Rouse Hill Times that customers will have a range of items to choose from at the 14,000sq m warehouse at Marsden Park.
“Customers can expect the highest-quality products at the best possible price,” Mr Noonan said. “They can shop for everything from fresh food and electronics to clothing and cleaning supplies, all in one warehouse.
“Our aim with our fuel stations is to always be the cheapest in the neighbourhood.
“Our fuel station will be opening on July 17 for our members to take advantage of.
“We will have someone on site at this time to sign up anyone looking to join.
“We will also offer our specialty departments in this warehouse, including our optical centre, hearing aids centre and tyre centre.”
Mr Noonan said they will have a special coupon book full of savings for customers for the opening and, “there will also be a number of ‘wow’ items.
“Wow items are exactly what they sound like — large, exciting, high-end and one-of-a-kind items that we get in especially for the opening,” Mr Noonan said.
Asked if there will be another Costco store in the Hills and North West Sydney, he said: “While we are always on the lookout for new warehouse locations, unfortunately at this time nothing is confirmed in those locations.”
Costco stocks a variety of big brands and also their own, Kirkland. Items include groceries, confectionary, appliances, TVs, automotive supplies, tyres, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, books, housewares, apparel, health and beauty aids, tobacco, furniture, office supplies and office equipment.
The Sydney Business Park is already home to several big companies, including Bunnings, Ikea, Home Hub, Shell, Aldi, Lindt & Sprungli, Swire Cold Stores and McDonald’s.
