AMERICAN discount store giants Costco will be opening their much-anticipated store at Marsden Park by July next year, bringing its membership-only warehouse to the fast-growing Sydney Business Park.
Costco, which currently has two stores in NSW, at Lidcombe and Casula, will stock thousands of products from groceries to electronic equipment, clothes and office equipment at its Marsden Park store.
Some stores even have models of coffins for sale.
Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier for Western Sydney and Castle Hill MP Ray Williams, federal Labor MP for Chifley Ed Husic and Blacktown deputy mayor Tony Bleasadale attended the ground-breaking ceremony.
This store will also have a petrol station, bakery, fresh meat and produce, deli, optical department, hearing aid centre, tyre centre and food court.
Costco managing director Patrick Noone said they will employ 250 full and part-time staff to service the 13,575 sq m venue.
“Costco is very excited to open our third warehouse in NSW and to be a part of this community,” Mr Noone said.
“We feel it is the perfect location for us, offering convenience for our rapidly expanding membership in this area.”
“We look forward to being an integral part of the growth in Sydney’s North West.”
Costco said there will be brand name products in groceries, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, tyres, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, books, homewares, apparel, health and beauty, furniture, office supplies and office equipment.
“Costco Wholesale Australia is a welcome addition to Sydney Business Park, which is fast becoming a major destination for the region,” SBP project manager Owen Walsh said.
The $350 million business park is home to many companies, including Aldi, Baby and Toddler Town, Beacon Lighting, Bunnings Warehouse, Carpet Call, Coles Express, Forty Winks, Home Hub Marsden Park, Ikea, JB Hi-Fi Home, Knotts Pine, Lindt Factory Outlet, Masters Home Improvement, Reece, Repco, Shell, Snooze and The Good Guys.
The park is bounded by Richmond Rd, South St and the future Castlereagh Freeway extension.
In November, the $135 million upgrade of Richmond Rd that links SBP to the M7 was completed in November.
