The name may sound familiar but it was in a different sport from cricket in which this athlete starred.

Glen Liddiard was an NRL gun in the late 1980s and 90s but in 2020 it is his son Tyran making headlines.

Tyran Liddiard helped Penrith secure a thrilling victory against Hawkesbury on Saturday in NSW Premier Cricket.

On a memorable day for the young keeper batsmen, Liddiard scored his maiden ton in the match, finishing the match with 125 beside teammate Ryan Smith (29).

Prior to the match Liddiard had four nineties to his name, three of them in 2018-19.

Down south Andrew Walsh had the crowd in awe as the schoolteacher produced a display few will forget in a hurry.

Walsh, who first played for St George in AW Green Shield and fifth grade matches in 2006-07, scored 208 in his clubs victory over UTS North Sydney.

Other standout performances on the weekend included;

#Josh Clarke’s (Western Suburbs) 119 was his second century of the season and the 19th of his career. He has 490 runs for the season at 70.00 - and if the T20 matches are excluded he has 390 runs at 97.50.

#Big congrats to Jaydyn Simmons (Fairfield-Liverpool) who made his maiden first-grade century on the weekend. Simmons scored 147.

#Angus Robson (Eastern Suburbs) scored his seventh century, one more than his legendary father, ‘Jungle’ Jim Robson. Teammate Peter Nevill’s 46 took him past 4000 runs to 4042 at 40.01.

#Tim Affleck’s (Randwick Petersham) 31 took him just past 2000 runs to 2009 at 24.50.

#Luke Webb followed up his 58 for Campbelltown-Camden with 7-60 when Mosman batted. It is the best of his four five wicket performances.
