It’s official. The Penrith Panthers have got their man - well, teenager at least.

Mark Geyer’s son, Mavrik Geyer, has been signed on a development contract.

The Panthers have confirmed local junior Mavrik Geyer, a talented back rower or prop, has officially committed to the club in the form of a two-year NRL development deal from 2022.

Father Mark Geyer is a club legend with Mavrik’s uncle Matt a star at Melbourne Storm in his heyday.

Melbourne Storm were apparently also interested in signing the youngster who was a star of the recent Jersey Flegg.

His cousin Cole, the son of Matt Geyer, will be at Storm next season.
