Orchard Hills proposed ‘late night food run’ hub could be a foodie game-changer

A $7 million precinct proposal could transform the suburb into the home of ‘late-night food runs’ with two popular franchises planning to run 24/7.

Orchard Hills could become another favourite late night food run destination with a $7 million precinct proposed for the area boasting two franchises running 24/7.

The development, proposed by Altis Property, is for three food outlets, retail and a gym facility with associated roadworks from the Mamre Rd and James Erskine Drive intersection.

The 2.24 ha site sits north of the First Estate Industrial Park, which was constructed in 2016 and 2017, and could potentially offer workers meals at any time, if approved.

King of the late night food run, McDonald’s, has plans to operate a 24-hour store.

Also potentially on offer, if approved, is Guzman Y Gomez which proposes to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This project is referred to on the First Estate Masterplan as “future retail hub” with the complex playing a role in a larger 50ha rezoning project that has been in the works since the land was released in 2012, according to HBB property.
