Boat submerged on Nepean River at The Rock Lookout

Two boaties had to be picked up by another vessel after their ski boat took on water on the Nepean River on Tuesday evening.

A ski boat is set to be retrieved from the Nepean River today after it went underwater on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services were called to Nepean River after reports of a ski boat sinking at The Rock Lookout.

“At about 4:30pm, a single hull sea boat was taken into the water near The Rock Lookout,”a police spokesman said.

“The people anchored the boat to a nearby tree and noticed it took water so they called for assistance.”

No one was injured.

NSW Fire and Rescue were called to the scene for assistance.

“RFS crews were alerted to reports of a sunken vessel around 6:30pm yesterday,” an RFS spokesman said.

“It was found the two occupants of the boat had been picked up by a private vessel,” an RFS spokesman said.

“The boat hadn’t sunk, it was submerged under two feet of water.”

The boat owner will be organising the retrieval of the boat today, according to police and the RFS.
