Covid testing sites shut down across Sydney

Emergency services have rushed to aid a person who suffered a medical episode while waiting for a Covid PCR test.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed paramedics were called to the Penrith Laverty drive-through clinic at 8.30am today after a person suffered a medical episode while waiting in the queue.

Social media users have reported the queue was disbanded and the clinic is now closed as a result of the emergency response.

Instagram account Bondi Lines – which publishes user-generated rolling updates on Covid-19 testing queues and rapid antigen test locations – said at 8.30am the Penrith Laverty queue was more than 1km long.

At 9.30am, the account reported the clinic was closed entirely.

The Penrith Press has contacted Laverty Pathology for comment.

More to come.
