Parramatta Westfield: 35-storey high-rise plans in hands of NSW Planning Panel
The fate of a $33 million vision to build a 35-storey high-rise tower at a western Sydney shopping centre will be determined by a NSW Planning Panel.

Multimillion-dollar plans for a 35-storey high-rise tower at Westfield Parramatta will go before a NSW Planning Panel this month.
The $33 million development application, submitted to Parramatta Council in June last year, earmarks the construction of 104 apartments, commercial space, communal areas and retail space over 35 storeys at 13 Aird St, Parramatta.
The Sydney Central City Planning Panel will determine the proposal, by Hamptons Property, when it meets on February 13.
A planner for the applicant said the proposal would provide residential accommodation to the “aged community and younger people” at Westfield Parramatta and just a short distance from Parramatta Station.
“Our proposal works to create a dynamic and elegant tower form which is consistent with the emerging and growing image of Parramatta as one of Australia’s fastest growing and most dynamic of cities,” the planner said.
The development would include a cafe and outdoor dining area on the ground floor, with five floors of above ground parking with 86 car spaces.
A 663sq m commercial space will also be included in plans for the building as well as communal living areas.
A total of 27 one-, 72 two- and four three-bedroom apartments have been proposed.
A rooftop terrace will also be included in the proposal.
Parramatta Council officers have recommended the development application be approved.
