Parramatta: Toby Stuart Morris pleads guilty to gun, drug offences after cops search sharehouse

A serial offender who was busted with multiple firearms stashed in his western Sydney sharehouse now has more than 30 charges blighting his rap sheet.

Cops left Parramatta man Toby Stuart Morris’ sharehouse with a cache of guns and drugs lying by his bed when they searched it in November, adding to the serial offender’s long criminal history.

The 35 year old pleaded guilty to a raft of charges at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, months after cops uncovered firearms in the seven-bedroom house at Inkerman St.

The court heard how three replicas, a black handgun, a bolt action rifle and pump-action style gun were found at the home where he had been living for two months.

In January last year Morris was served a weapons prohibition and firearms prohibition order while behind bars at Junee Correctional Centre.

But his time out of prison was short lived after the search of his house, where cops attended for an unrelated matter on November 27 at 8.10pm.

Morris told police he had several firearm replicas inside his room next to his bed.

They uncovered the replicas and genuine weapons, a live round of ammunition, 12-gauge shotgun cartridge and 23g of cannabis.

The locksmith was taken to Parramatta police station where he initially declined to participate in an electronically recorded interview.

He was charged with three counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, possessing ammunition without holding a licence/permit/authority and firearm found at premises — subject to firearms prohibition order.

Court documents reveal how Morris has been charged 29 times after drug possession, drug and driving related offences, illegally possessing ammunition and breaching apprehended violence orders.

The father was earning $500 a week as a locksmith, along with $600 a fortnight on government benefits.

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on August 17.
