Parramatta: Police search for pair after man assaulted on train

Cops investigating the assault of a man at Parramatta train station have released images of two males they want to talk to assist with their inquiries.

Police have released CCTV images of two males who they want to talk to assist with their inquiries into the assault of a 35-year-old man on a train at Parramatta on Saturday, April 10.

Police have been told a man and woman had an argument on a train that stopped on Platform 4 at Parramatta train station, before three males entered the carriage and allegedly began to punch and kick the man.

The man suffered a wound to his hand and moved to another carriage but the trio allegedly followed and continued to assault him before they fled from the station towards Fitzwilliam St.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested at a correctional centre on July 29 and charged with use offensive weapon in company with intent (indictable) and affray. He is next due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on December 9.

As investigations continue, police have released CCTV of two males who could assist with inquiries.

The first is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build, wearing a white cap, black jumper, black tracksuit pants and black and white sneakers.

The second is described as being of African appearance and a medium build, wearing a black jumper, grey tracksuit pants black, a black cap, and blue and white sneakers.
