Man, 53, found dead with stab wound in South Wentworthville house

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a man was found dead in a South Wentworthville home.

Paramedics were called to Alto Street about 5pm on Sunday afternoon after reports a man was unresponsive.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called and found a 53-year-old man with what is believed to be with a stab wound to his chest.

Police have seized a knife for forensic examination.

Detectives have established Strike Force Rofe to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Investigators are urging anyone with information or may have seen any suspicious activity around the area to come forward and assist police.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
